Luxembourg Pro Cycling Team Presentation

everyone has been lots of commotion on the new Luxembourg Pro Cycling Team created around Frank and Andy Schleck. There was a sca type of news story 2 or 3 months ago that the team would be name Leopard True Racing. However there was no hard facts about this. Then this so called leopard true racing company made a twitter account and said "this will be the account of Andy Schleck", but Andy Schleck already has a twitter account. 2 days later the leopard true racing twitter account totally disappeared. So then a website thats supposed to be linked to the Luxembourg team comes out its just a picture of a windy mountain and in the lower right corner in large print it reads COMING SOON. In the top left corner it says Leopard True Racing. A week ago Jakob Fuglsang was in a interview right after he had gotten back from the team trainning camp and he said "our new team will be named Leopard". "After seeing our jersey i can say this for sure". Later that week Frank Schleck was interviewed in a Luxembourg newspaper there first question for Frank was "Will the Luxembourg Team named Leopard?" His answer "Sorry but i am not able to comment on this you know that the presentation wil be on January 6th." Today leopard.lu sold tickets for the luxembourg presentation. Frank Schleck said that all of the tickets sold out in 1 and 30 minutes a record. He also said that he is sad that everyone couldnt get a ticket. 

Fabian Cancellara "Spartacus"

Fabian Cancellera otherwise known as spartacus is known as the fastest man in the world when it comes to time trialling. He has a world record of 8 olympic medals for cycling. Added to that he has another world record of 4 gold medals in World Championships of Cycling. Every individual time trial he is in he beats every other competitor by anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes. Cancellera is from Switzerland. He was on Saxo Bank with the Schleck for as long as i can remembered. In September of this year Cancellera met with the Saxo Bank boss to discuss his future. They ended up cutting Fabians contract short by one year. For a month or two there was a lot of confusion on what team Cancellera would ride for in the 2011 season? There were several rumors that he would ride for a Australia team or even a Switzerland team. I would say about a month ago or so, Cancellera said in a press conference that he would ride for the unnamed Luxembourg based team. He would ride with the Schleck brothers for the next two years. This was a huge shock for me well not really i believe most people knew that he would sign with them. Anyway I am getting off of track let me explain how Cancellera is known as Spartacus. He is known as Spartacus because of his speed it all started off when Paul Sherwen and Bob Roll called him that a few years ago in a individual time trial. Another unbelievable theory is that  Cancellera rides with a motor on the back of his bike and that what makes him so fast. However its more of like a joke and not a actual theory.

The Great Rivalry In The 2010 Tour De France

In this years 2010 Tour De France (july 3-25) it was a constant battle between a certain Andy Schleck of Luxembourg and Alberto Contador of Spain. On every time trial or mountains stage it was a battle to show who had more power. Schleck would attack and Contador was one of the few riders (out of 195) would folllow. However only Contador could keep up with Schleck and or vice versa. All others may have hung on the back for up to 5 or 10 seconds. But they would just kill the peloton (french for main field). The whole peloton just get dropped. Andy Schleck or Alberto Contador  would cross the finish line first and the other 2nd. On stage 15 out of 21 Andy Schleck made an attack on the peloton. A team mate of Alberto Contador responded to the peloton attack with Contador shortly behind. A few moments later Schleck tries to peddle but his bike is not moving. It does not take him long to realize that his chain had popped lucky for  him a random fan helped him put it back on and then gave him a pushed of power to get him going again. Andy Schleck had the yellow leaders jersey on that day. But he lost a total of 1:45 seconds to Contador. Schleck lost the yellow jersey to Contador. And when Contador was presented the yellow jersey the crowd starting yelling and boooing him off the stage. On stage 19 it was a individual time trial. Schleck acme in strong at the  beginning  of the Andy Schleck was only a total of 8 seconds. At the first time check of the time trial Schleck was 4 seconds ahead of Contador. But when the 2nd checkpoint Contador was strong with a total of 39 seconds ahead of Schleck at the finish line

Frank Schleck

Frank Schleck is the older brother of one of the worlds greatest cyclist "Andy Schleck". Frank is 5 years older and has been on the same team for the past 8 years. Next year he will be on a new team for atleast 4 years. Frank Schleck skill is time trialling. And mountains. As of right now he is known to be in Luxembourg with Andy. They both just got back from a training camp. In this years 2010 Tour de France, Frank Schleck fell on stage 3 of cobbles and broke his collar bone is 3 places. He was rushed to the hospital and went into surgery and got a metal plate. In an interview in the hospital he said "I plan to be training in 14days" and sure enough a little bit more than 2 weeks he was at the finale of the Tour De France riding with his brother Frank.

In my choice of the best cyclist he is Andy Schleck. Andy Schleck is from Luxembourg he has a older brother that goes by Frank Schleck. Andy Schleck and his brother Frank have both been on the same time which was Saxo Bank. In this years 2010 Tour De France Andy finished 2nd behind Alberto Contador. Andy Schleck had the leaders jersey during the Tour De France until Alberto Contador attacked him on a mountain. Andy and his brother Frank are creating their own team. Theres not much to tell about all we know so far is that Mercedes Bens and not much else. Everyone is asking what will the name be? Or what will the jersey look like. Jacob Fuglsang recently said that the team name will be Leopard but no one knows for sure. Frank Schleck recently said in a interview that he cannot comment and the presentation will be on January 6th.

Contador Doping

In the 2010 tour de france Alberto Contador Finished in 1st place with the yellow leaders jersey. Andy Schleck came in second 39" seconds after Contador. In September velonews.com released an article that said Contador was given a drug test on the final rest day of the tour de France. However he failed it he was found with a small trace of illegal substance that makes you loose body fat and gain muscle. Now he is under investigation by the UCI and WADA and is now in a disciplinary hearing with Spain. Spain is Contadors hoem country.

 

The Tour De France History

In 1999 Lance Amrstrong won the Tour De France he was not expected to win he was new but had a lot of energy inside of him. He has a great talent because he was fantastic  because he was the best at mountains,sprinting,time trailing,ect. In 19992 he won for the second time in a row and for the next five years he won every Tour De France. Sadly he got cancer and had to retire but two years later he announced he coming out of retirement. Sadly he has not won a Tour since then. However he is now a cycling legend by winning 7 Tour De  Frances in a row the only person every to be able to do something like this
